About

Jim Taylor Jr. is a native Hoosier, born in Fort Wayne where he attended Central High School and graduated from R. Nelson Snider. He was the youngest of four children and grew up in the International Harvester neighborhood on the east side. He has served in full-time ministry for almost 30 years, as a Rescue Mission assistant director, youth pastor, senior pastor, and interim pastor. Jim leading spiritual gift is teaching, and it is evident in his speaking and in his books. He is the founder of IN Favor Resources LLC.

Who We Are

Jim has been married to Sharon since 1979, and they have three grown children: James (Samantha), Carly, and Jerrod. Sharon is a fitness instructor and uses her administrative and organizational skills for her church, community, and the kingdom. Jim enjoys reading and watching movies, swimming and biking, walking his dog Bailey, and eating Long’s donuts. The Taylors have lived in the Mooresville area since 1989 and they love their town. They are founding members of CityChangers, a non-profit that assists people in transforming their communities by showing kindness and meeting needs.

Leadership

Jim has served in positions of leadership for the Morgan County Leadership Academy, 2020 Quality of Life Group, Morgan County CareNet Pregnancy Center, Boys and Girls Club of Morgan County, Mooresville Ministerial Association, J-2 Citizen’s Group, Crossing Over Men’s Reconciliation Bible Study, the We Love Mooresville weekend, and others. He has provided pulpit supply and teaching at Refuge Church, Light of the World Christian Church, St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church, LifeSong Church, Lakeview Church, The Center, Rivers of Living Water, Indiana Aglow Lighthouses, LifePointe Community Church, and others.

Grant Recipient

Jim was a recipient of the Clergy Renewal Grant from the Eli Lilly Foundation. The grant enabled him to travel over three months to four countries and seven states, interviewing city leaders and pastors in communities experiencing unusual spiritual transformation. The principles he learned set the direction for the rest of his life and ministry, and he has shared them with pastors’ groups and town leaders, at retreats and at conferences.
